Korah, Dathan, and Abiram challenge Moses and Aaron’s leadership and then reject Moses’ plea for their repentance. The earth swallows them, and fire consumes their followers. HaShem commands Eleazar to cover the altar with bronze from their censers as a remembrance. When the people blame Moses, a plague breaks out, stopped by Aaron’s incense. HaShem confirms Aaron’s priesthood through his staff’s blossoming. Laws establish the duties and portions of the priests and Levites, ensuring their provision for serving in the Mishkan.
